SoundUtility.com is a small set of free tools for sound engineers and sound designers, covering loudness targets, timecode, frame rate pull-up, audio file inspection, platform specs and surround channel order, that run in your browser so nothing you type or drop is sent anywhere.
Streaming loudness target
LUFS and true peak targets for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, broadcast and Netflix, with a source and check date on every number. Enter your master's loudness to see how far it sits from each target.
Timecode converter
Convert timecode, frames and seconds. Add and subtract timecodes, and move timecode between frame rates. Handles 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 drop-frame and non-drop, 30, 48, 50, 59.94 and 60.
Frame rate pull-up and pull-down
Audio speed change, pitch shift in cents, new running time and sample rate relabel for any pair of frame rates, for example 24 to 25 or 23.976 to 24.
Audio file inspector
Drop a WAV, AIFF, FLAC or MP3 file to see its sample rate, bit depth, channels, duration and Broadcast Wave metadata. Only the header is read, so nothing is uploaded.
Platform audio specs
File format, sample rate, bit depth and headroom requirements for Spotify, Apple Digital Masters, YouTube, SoundCloud and Bandcamp, each with its source and check date.
5.1 and 7.1 channel order
Film, SMPTE/ITU, DTS and WAV channel orders side by side, plus a remap table that shows which input channel goes to which output when you convert.
About these tools
Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to install and no sign-up. The timecode and pull-up maths is checked against known values, and every loudness, platform and channel order entry names its source and the date it was last checked.
